No.9: Accessing online journals and books
Journals
The Journals List shows both print and electronic journal holdings. Browse by subject area or by title.
Browse by Title
Browse the alphabetical list to find a journal. Print holdings are listed first, with online access links beneath. There are several different methods of access, sometimes more than one per journal. See the Legend for a full description.

Browse by Subject
Select a subject area, select a title under that heading, and see print and online holdings where available.

Books
Access over 200 electronic books using the library catalogue. Some titles require passwords for off site access.
- Go to Catalogues, then select "Search the catalogue now".
- Select "Online Books" from the tab bar. Select a group title to view the list of titles.
- Select the URL to view the book online.

See Fact Sheet no.10: The library catalogue for more help on searching the catalogue.
Passwords
Some titles require a username and password for on site or off site use. Use any "password" link from the Journals List to get the list of passwords in PDF format, or contact the library for details.
Some titles require user authentication for off site use. After selecting one of these links, the "Remote Patron Authentication" page is displayed. Enter the required information and select "Login". See Fact Sheet no.13 "Remote access" for more information.
