Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take university students

Yes. The Royal Children's Hospital is linked to the University of Melbourne. Therefore, priority is given to the students in their final year at the University of Melbourne.  Students wishing to undertake an internship style placement are welcome to apply for placement. Students from other Universities are also accepted, as are international students. International students should note, that appropriate visas are required. These can take some time to be approved and this should be taken into consideration when applying for placements.

Limited students placements are available. Students are therefore asked to book in early. We request that students write to us and include:

  • A letter explaining what they hope to achieve from the placement.
  • The required dates (please note that full time placements are more beneficial to the student than part time).
  • Documentation of enrolment.

All students are required to follow the Educational Play Therapy Clinical Placement Program. This ensures the student will benefit most from the placement.

Inquiries for placement should be sent to the Student Placement Co-ordinator, Educational Play Therapy, Royal Children's Hospital, Flemington Road, Parkville Vic. 3052
