Health services

The health services delivered by The Centre for Adolescent Health provides health care for young people and their families and promote positive adolescent development. Our services take into account the wide range of family, school, peer and individual issues that can affect the health of young people.

Services are delivered in a range of settings that include inpatient and outpatient hospital, community based and custodial settings.

Specialist Outpatient Clinics  Includes Adolescent Medicine, Chronic Fatigue Clinic, Gynaecology Clinic, General Mental Health and Respiratory Clinic .
RCH Eating Disorders Program  Provides assessment, consultation and treatment services to young people.
Adolescent Forensic Health Service  Provide health care services to young men and women aged 10-21 years who are involved in the Youth Justice System.
 Adolescent Inpatient Unit  Caring for adolescents with all manner of acute and chronic health issues.
Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) Assisting and supporting young people with chronic illness.
Creative Expression Program Providing adolescents with the opportunity to develop through participation in a broad range of creative and recreational-based activities.
 Young People's Health Service Primary health services for young people aged 12 - 22 who are experiencing homelessness and/or marginalisation.

Referrals

To access Specialist Outpatient Clinics and the RCH Eating Disorders Clinic a  Centre for Adolescent Health Referral (PDF 120KB) form is required.These services can only be accessed with a GP referral or by having their GP or other medical practitioner complete the form. More information on referrals.

Placement opportunities

The Centre for Adolescent Health provides a limited number of placement opportunities in the clinical and research areas.
